The Gratitude Exchange

This past Saturday, The Ladies got together for a gratitude exchange. This was our postdated Christmas gift exchange. Why so late? Because most of us aren't from NYC so, we weren't all in town on Christmas Day. What's a gratitude exchange and why do it? Glad you asked. A gratitude exchange is when instead of store bought gifts, you give something homemade from the heart that symbolizes your appreciation of that person.

The gifts were thoughtful and very creative. The exchange included free make-up sessions, coupons for an excuse-free workout, a progress report on personal evolution, poetry, a music video, proclamations of promises, complimentary chef services, and a cookbook of favorite foods.

Before the exchange, the Bronx Bomber requested that we take communion first. Now for some of you, this concept of communion at home maybe unfamiliar, but in Biblical times, folks didn't have churches as they do today (and the very 1st communion held certainly wasn't in a church) to partake in this act of gratitude and acceptance of grace. Besides, where ever two or three are gathered...

Going the extra mile, or simply walking in excellence depending on your POV, BB lovingly made unleavened bread at home as representation of Christ's body and brought the good Welch's grape juice for the blood.

To sum up the evening in one thought I'd say: Gratitude is love manifested.
